Maldini Talks About His 22 Years Career


About the best rival, be the captain in Azzuri and AC Milan, the 22 years journey in the football career, and future plans. Near his retirement, Paolo Maldini talk about his experience of becoming one of the best defender in the world.

"I see my career as something that enjoyable, I don't see football as a job. If I think like that, I was retired a few years ago," Maldini said in the interview with Sky.

Maldini's debut with AC Milan is in 1985, while he plays as a subsitute. And that was his the only appearance in that year. in the next year, Maldini became the Rossoneri's starting XI.

In 40 years old, or after 22 years with AC Milan, Maldini decided that this year is the last year of his career. The acchievment he made until now, he see as a big aleatory.

"I think about he great aleatory that I've had from my birth town. With this club I've take the Champions League Trophy, like the way my dad do it before. and the fact now is my child is now plays for AC Milan too."

"I think again about all of that and then I think that I am a very lucky man," he said again.

Even he is said that he is one of the best defender in the world, Maldini is never give the trophy for Gl Azzuri. Neither in Euro Cup or World Cup. Even he never gets the award that given to the best player with fenomenal acchievment like Ballon d'or or World's Best Player from FIFA.

"I don't get it with Azzuri, but that may because it is not hte time, many chances for us, and always lost with Penalty Kick," said the man that have 126 caps with Azzuri.

"The strange is I've became the captain in Azzuri before I've became captain at Milan. I'm happy that I can't get more responsibilities, and I'm ready before my ages become 30, so I'm ready to take Franco Baresi's job."

In his long career, Maldini is already facing hundred deadly striker in the world. In all of them, he see a number of striker that have a better skill than another. The name he said is Diego Maradona and Ronaldo when firstly played for Inter.

ear his retirement, many people always asking about what he would do when he is not in football anymore. One thing to be sure is he is not follow his father's way to become a coach.

"There is a question about my next career. They who became a big player not always became a good coach too. I'm open with all of the chance, so let's just see how it will be then," Maldini said.
